Armani Suit Collection

Whether your office adheres to a business dress code or not, the time has come for you to get suited up with the look for fall: the tailored suit. You never know who you might bump into while walking through the halls of your office building or even at your buddy's engagement party -- and those are only two great reasons for you to get your hands on some of fall's must-haves, listed here in the hottest colors and styles.

This year's suits are characterized by standard, rich colors, sharp fits, and no-nonsense styles: it's the year of the basic suit, with a twist. If you're looking for lighter-colored shirts, you're in luck, and if you've been waiting for the return of the pinstripe suit, this is your year.

Buttons, stitching and pockets make up the basic details of a good suit. First, examine the buttons along the cuff of the jacket. Are they decorative or operable? If they are operable, then you've discovered a well-made suit. If, however, they are merely decorative, then you have a suit that could be moderately priced (or lower), but lacks the attention to detail a bespoke suit will offer. Additionally, if the buttons are plastic then you're looking at a mass-produced suit, whereas a suit with buttons made form horn or bone is decidedly more expensive and thus desirable. The third element is the stitching. Are the seams glued? If so, then stay away! The seams will pop within a year or two. A hand-stitched suit will show some imperfections while a machine stitch will look precise and finished properly. What you want, however, is a real stitch -- whether it comes from a practiced hand or a machine. Examine the pockets and undersides of the lapels; even a novice can spot poor workmanship in
stitching.

Roberto CavalliRoberto Cavalli

avalli is known for using wild animal prints and sexualized cuts in his design, leading to comparisons with designer Gianni Versace and his popularity with many young celebrities, such as Victoria Beckham, with whom he famously signed an exclusive dressing contract.

He is also known for his lavish lifestyle. He owns several houses and villas and is married to a former Miss Universe runner-up, Eva Duringer of Austria, with whom he has had one child and two from a previous marriage. Many of his runway collections are inspired by items in his homes.

Cavalli aroused controversy in 2006 as the first designer to quickly publicly announce that he wanted Kate Moss as the face of his Spring 2006 collection very soon after her infamous drug scandal broke. Moss had already been the spokes model for Cavalli's Spring 2005 campaign a year earlier, and has since been the face of his Fall-Winter 2007/2008 campaign. He has been designing outfits for Shakira's Oral Fixation Tour, and her Red Carpet appearances as well. He also recently designed outfits for Christina Aguilera's tour, and Michael Jackson as well as for his rumored upcoming tour. Most recently, he has been designing the clothes for mom-to-be Jennifer Lopez.

Cavalli also designed international retailer, H&M's fourth annual exclusive collection which will be sold in 200 stores world-wide November 2007.

Wardrobe Basics for Men

It is important to have a good wardrobe. But make sure to fill up your wardrobe with right clothes and accessories. But have you ever come across a situation when you want a certain piece of cloth for a particular occasion? You must have. This emphasizes the need of having the right pieces for right occasions. Let’s have a look at some of the wardrobe basics for men.

One of the most important items in a men’s wardrobe is a well tailored suit. A suit in ultimate gray color or in classic black will be ideal for special occasions. Opt for a single-breasted suit if you are looking to add just one suit to your wardrobe. After suits, shirts are the most important items in your wardrobe. Go for a wide collection of shirts but if you are picky then choose a dressy blue button down shirt or a classy while. They will go well with suits on any type of occasion.

Next item in the list is pants. Go for elegant pants in colors like black, gray and beige in your wardrobe. They will be perfect for both casual as well as business events. A suit will not be complete without a good tie. Try finding a slid colored tie. Have at least 3-4 pieces of ties.

As far as casuals are concerned, add khaki chinos, denim and tees to your wardrobe. Denim could be in ultimate dark blue and cool light blue shade while for tees, go for basic shades like white, black and gray. Finally, when it comes to accessories, a good quality, smart looking pair of eyeglass, leather belt, and formal watch will complete your wardrobe.

Best of Milan - Bottega Veneta

Best of Milan - Bottega Veneta
The layering, the rich colors, the subtly patterned suits, the slim but not tight silhouette - Bottega Veneta was easily the strongest show of the Milan season.

In Paris Junya was fantastic, I'll post those shots tomorrow.

Overall the shows this season have been less than stellar. Have you seen any shows that you love?

This Season's Must Have Accessory: A Watch

Here are the collection of some beautiful watches for men.

If you are trying to figure out what must have accessory to invest in this season the perfect thing is these oversized watches. They add a bit of sophistication and heavy metal (bling!) to the most casual or the dressiest of outfits. The bigger the better!

                               Casio Retro watches

I recently spotted these Casio retro Bank Watches. I love the white and gold combination and the checkerboard pattern of the numbers. And the price tag is nice too! $59

The latest collection was inspired by Costa Rica. La Mer is giving away three watches from the Costa Rica Collection to Fashion Plate readers. All you need to do is create a Costa Rican inspired outfit to pair with one of these three watches.
